Rev. Dr. Douglas J. Foss, Senior Pastor

 

          A graduate of Hesser Business College (ABS), Berkshire Christian College (B.Th.) and Reformed Theological Seminary (M.Div., D.Min.), Doug is presently serving in his twenty-sixth year as the senior Pastor of Hope Church. Before coming to Lenox, he pastored churches in Duck Hill, Mississippi and Whitefield, New Hampshire. In addition to his pastoral duties, Doug serves on the Board of Directors of the Berkshire Institute for Christian Studies (BICS), and is an instructor at the Institute, teaching courses in Evangelism, Counseling and Theology.

         In 1995 Doug earned the Doctorate of Ministry degree, in which he developed a Christian education course paralleling the theological differences between Roman Catholicism and the historic Protestant faith. This course is taught frequently at Hope Church to better equip its members to share their faith with a culture steeped in relativism and hedonism.

          Doug’s involvement in the Lenox community has included several years as a coach for the Little League and Babe Ruth baseball programs. Doug and his wife, Cindy, have been married 42 years and have three grown children and nine grandchildren. Cindy served several years as the Administrative Assistant at BICS.

 

Rev. Michael F. Tuttle,  Minister of Family Life
           A graduate of Berkshire Christian College (B.Th.), and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and Graduate School (M.A.R.), Mike served as Hope Church's Minister of Youth from 1994-2011. During these years, Mike led students on more than 12 short-term mission trips to Mississippi, Mexico, Belize, Dominican Republic, and Honduras and has coached basketball, soccer, and softball at the local High School. 
          Mike currently serves as the Minister of Family Life at Hope Church, where his charge is to strengthen families by assisting fathers and mothers in fulfilling the biblical mandate to bring up their children "in the training and instruction of the Lord (Eph. 6:4)." In addition, Mike's passion is to equip both current and future leaders to serve the local church. Mike also serves as the Vice President of Student Development at the Berkshire Institute for Christian Studies, where he is involved in discipling students.  Through BICS, Mike heads up the Bible Lands Seminar, a three-week trip sponsored by the Institute (BICS), which has included tours to Rome, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Israel.
          Mike and his wife Sandi have been married for more than 32 years and have been blessed by God with three wonderful sons and their families; Caleb (Arielle, Daisy, Galilee, Shepherd, and Glory Jane), Jacob, and Jared (Amber).
 
 

Pastor Sam Cobb, Minister of Christian Education 

     Sam was born and raised in Ashland, Maine but has lived in the Berkshires since 2006.  He studied for two years at the Berkshire Institute for Christian Studies (BICS) and is currently enrolled in the Antioch School for Church Planting and Leadership Development.  He is working towards his Bachelor of Ministry (B.Min) degree. Since becoming a Christian when he was 15, Sam has been involved in many youth groups, Christian camps and church ministries. He became a member of Hope Church in the spring of 2011 but has been engaged in ministries within the church since he arrived in 2006. 
     In September of 2011, Sam became the Associate Minister of Youth at Hope Church. Working directly under the Associate Minister of Family Life, Sam is looking to encourage parents to be active in the lives of their students through the youth ministries opportunities provided at Hope Church.  His goal is to help unite and build strong families in order to unite and cause growth within Hope Church.
